“ Reading the first chapter ”
l've read the first chapter, not once, or twice, but several times. I found it to be eye opening, edifying and fills the flawed with lots of hope. Thank you brother. If I have your authorization, I would like to translate it and share it with my dear wife.
“ Intriguing first chaper ”
I found it very intriguing, especially the questions that you asked yourself about Eve - the way that she thinks, why she might have acted that way, why she was the one that the snake decided to talk to, and what would have happened if they had apologized for their behavior instead of blaming someone else? I've never been too religious, so I appreciated that you quote the Bible, so that everyone can grasp that too. I liked the style that you used. It's not an unreachable elite book but instead one that everyone with every kind of education can understand. Would I keep on reading the book? Absolutely! Would I recommend it based on what I read? Obviously! Was it an honest review by a detached point of view form my opinion on you? Yes ;)
“ Eve's story is special ”
God is love--and love can't force a response of love. I appreciate how Eve's story highlights the importance of free will, and the value of maintaining our own identity apart from others. Defensiveness, lying, and evading responsibility have characterized every sin since the Fall, and identifying these patterns is critical to helping us to learn to avoid duplicating them. Communication and finding identity in our Creator are keys to faithful, healthy relationships with God and others. I love how this chapter highlights God's ultimate goal of restoration and reconciliation. Can't wait to read the rest of the book!
“ I am ready for the next chapter ”
I really enjoyed chapter 1 and am looking forward to the rest!I was intrigued by the fact that Eve was alone when the serpent came along. Where was Adam???? Also, he (the serpent) put ideas in her head to make her doubt her identity (he’s still doing that today) and I can’t help but wonder if she truly knew where her identity came from….not her husband, not her womanhood, but from her Creator. Thank you for writing this book. I know it will be a blessing.
“ Mind blown... ”
I read the first chapter today! 🤯 How am I going to wait until mid November for the rest? The way everything flowed one thing into the next, nothing was missed, pointing out things others DONT usually… and even specifying the differences in “toxic” & healthy relationships etc… so so good!! Absolutely blessed my soul!!! And resonates within me!!
“ Adam and Eve came to life for me ”
Chosen and Flawed starts off in what seems to be the logical place to begin: Adam and Eve. Having grown up in the church, I started learning about Adam and Eve before I could even talk. This staple Bible story was taught year after year. It would be safe to say I really know the story of Adam and Eve. Or so I thought. After reading chapter one of Chosen and Flawed, Adam and Eve came to life for me. They were no longer characters of a story. Instead they were real people with real emotions and real feelings. Reading about them through this lens allowed me to really understand them. Why? Because I could relate. The same struggles Adam and Eve faced, I have faced and still struggle with. Eve struggled with her identity just as I do. How amazing it is to realize the heroes of the Bible were human just like me. Reading about Adam and Eve in this capacity is encouraging to me, but it also gives me the opportunity to learn from their lives and walk away with practical tools that can be used in day-to-day life. After reading chapter one, I feel like I could put myself in Eve’s shoes, walking around the garden, interacting with the serpent, tasting the fruit. Chosen and Flawed has brought the Bible to life for me. It made me realize my understanding was only surface level, but now it is going deeper and deeper within each chapter.
